George is a Managing Director and member of the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) at UBS’s Investment Bank, based in London. He is responsible for the FIG franchise of UBS in Greece, Cyprus, and the broader CEE region, including Poland.

In addition to his responsibilities within FIG, George oversees the development of the Greek and Cypriot non-FIG business of the Investment Bank of UBS. George is also in charge of the coverage of major private equity firms and global financial institutions based in the UK. He has been involved in almost all key strategic transactions that have taken place in the Greek banking system over the past 14 years and has been instrumental in a number of landmark deals that occurred across the broader financial space in EMEA, totalling a value of transactions in excess of €100 billion.

Prior to joining UBS in 2014, George was a member of Credit Suisse’s FIG team since 2008, based in London.

Xenofon Zacharoudis has worked in the internal monitoring and regulatory reporting team of BNP Paribas’ Corporate and Institutional banking unit.

Xenofon is currently a part-time MBA candidate at Bayes (formerly CASS) Business School, holds a BSc in Applied Informatics from the University of Macedonia, is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments, and a “Freeman” of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers and the City of London.

HEAD OF THE DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

18 years’ experience in origination, structuring, execution and management roles in Global Banking and Capital Markets. Currently, he is a Director and Sector Head at HSBC Global Banking and Markets in London. He has covered clients in various sectors including Infrastructure, Energy, Professional Services, Technology, Media, and Telecommunications.

Prior to HSBC, he spent three years in multi-asset investments supporting brokerage firms in research to make recommendations to their clients. Holds a BSc. in Mathematics from the University of Athens, Greece, and an MBA from the National Technical University of Athens and Athens University of Economics and Business.

Iossif has 18 years experience in investment banking. He joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2006 after working for 2 years at Credit Suisse. In 2014 Iossif was appointed Head of Greece and Cyprus Investment Banking is responsible for driving Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s efforts in the region. In 2017, Iossif’s responsibilities expanded to also cover the EMEA Transportation Infrastructure space.

Iossif has extensive experience working closely with C-Suite executives, having advised on more than 70 M&A and capital markets transactions with an aggregate value of more than €100bn across products and industries.

Iossif holds a B.Eng (First Class Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from Citi University and an MSc. in Advance Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College.

Konstantinos joined Morgan Stanley in 2011 as a member of the Natural Resources Group. He has 11 years of experience in Investment Banking & Capital Markets and he is currently an Executive Director and Head of Investment Banking for Greece & Cyprus, based in London. Due to his regional role, he has covered clients in various sectors and has advised on deals across a range of different industries and products.

Prior to Morgan Stanley, he attended Imperial Collage Business School in London, where he graduated with an MSc in Management. He also holds an MSc in Civil & Structural Engineering from City University, London and a BEng in Civil Engineering from the University College London (UCL).

Konstantinos is a passionate basketball fan and player.

Theo is a Director in the Infrastructure and Power team of UBS Investment Bank. He joined UBS in 2017 and prior to that, he worked at KPMG in the Oil & Gas and Infrastructure M&A and Valuations team in London, Athens, and Stuttgart. Theo has 9 years of diverse transaction experience having executed deals across the product and industry spectrums.

He holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from Athens University of Economics and Business and a MSc in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School.

Martha is a Director at BNP Paribas covering HF clients focusing on G10 rates. Before joining BNP Paribas in August 2021, Martha worked in Fixed Income Sales at Morgan Stanley for 4 years and Barclays for 5 years.

Throughout her career, she has organized multiple European rates roadshows in NY, as well as, investor trips in Athens for both RM and HF clients looking to get involved in the Greek bond market. Martha graduated from UCL in 2012 with a BSc in Mathematics and has been actively involved in campus & graduate recruitment.

Outside work, Martha enjoys being a mum to a young daughter and her hobbies include traveling, skiing, and long-distance running.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AT PIRAEUS BANK

Christos Megalou is a Chief Executive Officer at Piraeus Bank since 2017. He is also a Non-Executive Board Member at Safe Bulkers Inc. Christos is a former Founder and Managing Director at Tite Capital Limited and Chief Executive Officer at Eurobank.

Christos Megalou began his professional career in 1984 when he started working at Arthur Andersen & Co (Athens, Greece) as an auditor, until 1986. He then moved to the Agricultural Bank of Greece (ATEbank) and became a member of the Internal Audit Division, until 1989. Following that, he started working as Director in Barclays’ first investment banking arm, which was established in 1985 under the name “Barclays de Zoete Wedd (BZW)”.

MINISTER OF MIGRATION & ASYLUM AT GOVERNMENT OF THE HELLENIC REPUBLIC

Notis Mitarakis currently serves as Minister of Migration and Asylum, and is a member of the Hellenic Parliament for Chios with New Democracy. He was appointed Vice Minister for Development & Competitiveness on June 21, 2012. He was elected a Member of the Hellenic Parliament in May 2012 and was re-elected in June 2012.

Mr. Mitarakis’ most recent appointments, as of July and August 2012, include Alternate Governor of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Governor of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank. On November 30, the Prime Minister appointed Mr. Mitarakis, as Chairman of the Interministerial Committee for Investment & International Trade. In 2011, he was elected Regional Councilor for Attica and appointed Member of the Political Assembly of the European People’s Party (EPP). In 2010, he became Alternate Head of Economic Policy of the New Democratic Political Party.

Stratos Chatzigiannis is an Investment Director at NBGI PE and was formerly Head of Capital Markets of NBGI, as well as a former Director of Corporate Finance at EFG Private Bank.

Mr. Chatzigiannis has extensive experience in the shipping industry in structuring shipping transactions, arranging financings and capital raisings as well as in the operational cycles of the industry. Educational experience: Mr. Chatzigiannis holds a BSc and MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics (LSE) and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.

Michail is Head of the London office. He focuses on investment opportunities in the Technology sector. He has worked on a number of transactions including Curriculum Associates, Exclusive Group, Findus Italy, Netafim, and Teraco.

Prior to joining Permira, Michail worked for eight years in technology investment banking at JPMorgan in London.

Michail has degrees in Political Sciences and Economics from Athens Law School, Greece, and the American College of Greece, respectively. He also holds a Master’s in Economics and Finance from Warwick Business School, England, and an MBA from INSEAD, France.

Andreas Zombanakis is an investment banker and entrepreneur based in Athens, Greece. He co-founded Vector Partners in 2006, a leading independent corporate finance adviser which has worked on transactions involving major multinationals in Greece and the surrounding region. In 2007 he co-founded Enexon SA, a leading developer, owner and operator of Photovoltaic plants in Greece, which was sold in 2011 to ENEL SpA, the Italian state utility. He is also Chairman and CEO of TANEO SA, the Hellenic Republic’s Fund of Funds for investments in the “New Economy”.

Prior to moving to Greece in 2006, he spent 18 years at Bankers Trust/Deutsche Bank in London and was involved in a number of areas including leveraged finance, was part of a team that developed credit derivatives in the early 90s and was a founder partner of DB’s Private Equity division, DB Capital Partners.

Antonis Ntatzopoulos is an Executive Director at UBS in Zurich, focusing on Wealth Management for Greek and Cypriot UHNW clients. Previously, he worked for J.P. Morgan advising Greek UHNW and Family

Offices clients on their investment, wealth planning and business needs. Prior to this, he spent 15 years in various roles with NatWest Markets (RBS Group), across Investment Banking, FIG Coverage and Financing, Capital Markets Origination and Solutions.

Antonis holds an MSc in Investment Management from City University Bayes Business School, and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Athens University of Economics and Business.

Louis Loizou is a London-based partner of Loizou & Co. He worked in the investment banking divisions of Citigroup and Barclays and the portfolio management division of Kleinwort Benson. Prior to this, he was an economist at the British Competition Commission and Her Majesty’s Treasury. He is the Chairman of the Hellenic Bankers Association-UK and Liveryman of the City of London. He graduated from Christ Church College, University of Oxford and LSE.

Yannis Kyriakopoulos is the Country Manager and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Piraeus Bank in Ukraine. He joined Piraeus Bank in 1999 as General Manager of its London Branch and subsequently headed Piraeus Bank Group’s International Banking, Corporate and Shipping Finance, and Wealth Management. He has served on various Boards of Directors of Piraeus Bank Group banks, other financial institutions, and real estate companies as well as Vice Chairman of Hellenic Seaways.

Before joining Piraeus Bank, Yannis worked for KPMG, Andersen, and Ionian Bank in London. Yannis is a graduate of Democritus University, Greece in Civil Engineering and holds an MSc degree in Engineering from the City University, London, and an MSc degree in Investment Management from CASS Business School, London. He has also served as Chairman of the Hellenic Bankers Association-UK.

George Matsakas is a Founder and the Chairman of the First Executive Committee of the Hellenic Bankers Association – UK.

George had a long banking career both in London and Athens. In London he worked for 12 years as the Manager of the West End Branch of the Commercial Bank of London and as a Director, for over a year, prior to the Bank’s acquisition by the Alpha Bank Group in 1995. At Alpha Bank London he was Manager based at its Head Office in the City of London responsible for a growing portfolio of high net worth clients.

After 24 years in London, he returned to Athens and took up the post of Deputy Division Manager of the Financial Institutions Division of the Alpha Bank AE with the responsibility to develop relations and business cooperation with Banks on all continents.

George’s career started in Athens at the Accountancy Dept of one of the main Branches of the Commercial Bank of Greece. Between 1980 and 1983 he worked as Forex Trader of the Commercial Bank of Greece in Athens. George is a graduate of the City of London Polytechnic and of the Institute of Economic and Banking Studies of the Commercial Bank of Greece Group.

Themis Agathocleous is a senior banking executive with over 15 years diverse, global experience in financial services. She has a strong record in mergers and acquisitions and bank restructuring in Cyprus, Greece, Middle East and the Balkans.

She is a qualified CFA charterholder, holds a BA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Operational Research from the London School of Economics.

Calliope Fragkogianni is an Executive Director at UBS Investment Bank, heading the EMEA Business Selection, Reputational Risk and Conflicts team. Calliope specialises in conflicts of interest & reputational risk. She is currently based in Zurich, having relocated from London where she worked for 15 years.

She holds an LL.B from the University of Essex, an LL.M in International Law from the University of Cambridge and received an LPC from Nottingham Law School.
