Panel Discussion: High-Level Dialogue on Greece’s Energy and Financial Transformation

The Hellenic Bankers Association (HBA) UK held a dynamic event in London on 12th February 2026, in collaboration with DLA Piper, titled "Fuelling Stability: Energy, Policy and Financial Sectors in Transition".

Held before a capacity audience, the discussion focused on the rapid transformation of the Greek energy landscape and the macroeconomic convergence of the Greek Economy. Particular emphasis was placed on the accelerated development of Renewable Energy Sources (RES), investments in storage infrastructure, and the regulatory reforms strengthening Greece's position as a regional hub for energy security, innovation, and capital-intensive investments.

The panel also examined the transformation of the Greek banking sector, the diversification of the financing mix between debt and equity, and current trends regarding investor risk appetite.

The discussion was moderated by the HBA UK Vice Chairman, Alexandros Tsourinakis, Head of London Branch of Eurobank Private Banking Luxembourg. Opening remarks were delivered by George Sotiropoulos, Head of Communications of HBA UK.
